The Butterfly Philosophy

Within every caterpillar, from its inception, is the butterfly. The caterpillar does not make a butterfly out of itself so much as it finds the butterfly hiding within itself, and responds in extraordinary ways when it does. In every caterpillar are special cellular structures called image discs because they hold the image of the entire butterfly on them. We believe that like the caterpillar, our client’s entities each have a positive public image waiting to emerge.

Metamorphosis is the series of developmental stages caterpillars go through to become butterflies and Blackman Brady Communications takes its clients through a Metamorphic Cycle as well. When the caterpillar begins this remarkable process, wrapped inside its chrysalis or cocoon, which is only about an inch long, the caterpillar will miraculously transform into a beautiful butterfly. This is a time of evolution, building and development. Inside the cocoon, fantastic chemical changes begin that activate the image discs and initiate the disintegration of the caterpillar. The image discs begin to move around, seeking each other, for the butterfly can only happen in the image discs are joined as one. It is not parts of the butterfly that are linking up, but many wholes. For your organization, this is the stage when image is being built through media relations, public relations and other public communication efforts. Blackman Brady Communications helps join your organizations image discs.

A creepy crawly insect will become a flying insect, one of the most beautiful insects on earth! For your organization, your negative image or anonymity will lead to a prevalent positive public image and perception.

But, when the butterfly first emerges from its cocoon, it is extremely vulnerable to predators because it is not yet able to fly. For your organization, image can be tarnished easily by crises, competitors, or even external forces beyond your control. Therefore, it is important the public communication efforts be continued to maintain the positive perception.

About one hour after emerging from its cocoon, the butterfly’s wings are full-sized, dry, and ready for flying. It is our philosophy to help our clients emerge from the time we work with a fully evolved image. The butterfly is able to do what the caterpillar never could FLY. We help your organization sore to new heights.

At Blackman Brady Communications, our clients are our priority, first and foremost. This is why we work with our clients to determine their specific needs and tailor our solutions in accordance. Just as the image discs of the butterfly are already within the caterpillar from its inception, we think that a positive public image is within every organization waiting to emerge.
